BIOGRAPHY OF LEVIE-OPPER PRINCIPALS
GEORGE R. LEVIE, CPA/ABV
George R. Levie has over forty (40) years experience as a Certified Public Accountant. He holds the ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He has been qualified as an expert witness and has provided testimony in hundreds of cases in bankruptcy and federal courts and various circuit courts in the state of Florida. He has testified in numerous types of civil and criminal matters that have ranged from stockholder disputes to lost profits to mortgage fraud.
Levie was President of a national mortgage lender which originated, sold and serviced non-conforming mortgages. Levie holds a BBA degree from Emory University and an MBA from Northwestern University. George Levie's Curriculum Vitae
GARY OPPER, CPA
Gary Opper is the Managing Member of Levie-Opper, LLC. Mr. Opper has been a Certified Public Accountant for thirty (30) years and was a Tax Engagement Manager with KPMG Peat Marwick. He is the past President of a local chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers (FAMB). He was the FAMB’s “Broker of the Year” and the National Association of Mortgage Broker’s “Writer of the Year” and “Featured Writer of the Year.” He has written over 500 published articles on mortgage, financial, mortgage fraud, ethical and accounting topics.
Opper has been a mortgage lender since 1980. He is the President of Approved Financial Corporation, a licensed mortgage lender since 1994. Previously, he was President of another national mortgage lender from 1987 to 1994. Mr. Opper is an acknowledged authority on Truth-In-Lending (TIL), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA) and Chapter 494. Mr. Opper is qualified for expert testimony on numerous topics in several courts and is able to provide intellectual and insightful conclusions, which are simply and concisely explained to judges and juries.
